Iowa forward Kris Murray was named a third-team All-American by the United States Basketball Writers Association on Wednesday.
Murray has been a third-team selection by the USBWA, the Associated Press, and the Sporting News. Those three outlets, plus the National Association of Basketball Coaches, determine consensus All-American status. The NABC teams will be announced later this month.
Murray is averaging a team-best 20.4 points and 7.9 rebounds. He is the only Division I player to average 20 or more points, 7.5 or more rebounds, one block, and have made 60 or more 3-pointers this season.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native has scored 30 of more points four times this season, 25 or more points nine times, and 20 or more points 15 times.
