Western Illinois guard Trenton Massner broke a long streak for the Leathernecks on Thursday.
Massner was named to the Summit League’s all-conference first team, the first Leatherneck honored on the first team since Ceola Clark and Terrell Parks were honored in the 2012-13 season.
Massner, named to the second team last season, was second in the conference in scoring at 21.6 points per game. He also led the conference in assists at 5.1.
Massner was named the conference’s player of the week three times this season, and was the United States Basketball Writers Association’s national player of the week in late January after a week in which he scored a program-high 46 points in a win over North Dakota and hit the game-winning shot three days later against South Dakota.

Forward Jesiah West was named to the conference’s all-defensive team.
West was second in the conference in rebounds per game (8.2), total rebounds (147), third in defensive rebounds (101) and second in offensive rebounds (46). West was also third in blocks per game (1.6) and total blocks (29).
Western Illinois guard Anna Deets was an honorable-mention selection on the women’s basketball team.
Deets started 26 games this season, averaging 12.6 points and 4.4 rebounds. She led the team in field goals made (102), three pointers made (49) and free throws made (113), scoring in double-figures 17 times while playing 30-plus minutes on in 10 games.
