When I walked out of the Sprint Center in late March after Auburn clinched a trip to the Final Four, I had just finished my 26th season of covering college basketball.
I figured there would be a 27th. I had already thought of some story ideas to preview the season, stories to work on during the year.
And then, thanks to corporate restructuring, my job was “eliminated.” The subsequent job search hasn’t been productive. So I thought I would start this site.
My plan is to find stories in college basketball around Iowa (and western Illinois) throughout the 2019-20 season. It’s not just going to be the Big 4, it’s going to be small colleges, junior colleges. I want to find the best stories and the best games.
I hope you come along for the ride. I don’t know where my career journey will lead, but this site will be a part of it.
