Matteoni Makes It A Six-Pack Of Drake Transfers For Hawkeyes

Joey Matteoni, a 6-foot-9 forward from Overland Park, Kansas, signed with the Hawkeyes on Tuesday. Matteoni redshirted last season at Drake, so he will have four years of eligibility. Sage Becomes Iowa’s Second Prep Signee
By JOHN BOHNENKAMP Ben McCollum officially added a second prep recruit to his Iowa roster on Thursday, when Tate Sage signed a scholarship agreement. Sage, a 6-foot-7 guard from Weatherford, Oklahoma, originally signed to play for McCollum at Drake, but changed his commitment after McCollum was hired at Iowa. McCollum, who had to rebuild Iowa’s roster after being hired to replace Fran McCaffery, has gone into the NCAA transfer portal to find most of the new Hawkeyes.
