Iowa’s men’s basketball nonconference schedule will include at least four games against NCAA Tournament teams.
The 11-game schedule was released on Friday, a slate that includes a home game against Xavier, neutral-court games against Ole Miss and Bucknell, and a road game against Iowa State.
The first regular-season game for new coach Ben McCollum will be November 4 against Robert Morris (131 NET), an NCAA Tournament qualifier out of the Horizon League, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, starting a five-game home stretch to open the season.
The Hawkeyes play host to Western Illinois (337 NET) on November 7, NCAA Tournament qualifier Xavier (45 NET) on November 14, Southeast Missouri State (183 NET) on November 18, and Chicago State (358 NET) on November 20.
Iowa then goes to the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs, California, playing NCAA regional semifinalist Ole Miss (24 NET) on November 25 and either NCAA tournament qualifier Grand Canyon (97 NET) or Utah (72 NET) the following day.
The Hawkeyes play at Iowa State (12 NET), which reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, on December 11 before playing host to Western Michigan (278 NET) three days later. They play Bucknell (215 NET) at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines on December 20, then close nonconference play with a December 29 game against UMass-Lowell (244 NET).
