Iowa’s women’s basketball team will get in-state rival Drake as well as Western Illinois on its home nonconference schedule this season.

The Hawkeyes, in their second season with Jan Jensen as their head coach, have just six nonconference regular-season home games this season, starting with the November 3 game against Southern. That game starts a three-game stretch of home games that includes a November 9 game against Evansville and a November 13 game against Drake.

Iowa plays at Northern Iowa on November 16 before going to the WBCA Showcase in Orlando, Florida. The Hawkeyes play Baylor on November 20 and then Miami (Fla.) on November 22.

Iowa returns home to play Western Illinois on November 26, followed by a home game against Fairfield on November 30. The Hawkeyes then play at Iowa State on December 10, then play their final nonconference home game against Lindenwood on December 13.

Iowa closes the nonconference schedule with a December 20 game against Connecticut in the Women’s Champions Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Hawkeyes get one home exhibition game — October 30 vs. Ashland.

The Big Ten schedule will be released some time in September.
