Iowa Women Get USC, UCLA On The Road Next Season

By JOHN BOHNENKAMP

Iowa’s women’s basketball team got the top two teams in the Big Ten at home last season.

The Hawkeyes will see them on the road in the upcoming season.

The conference released single-plays and double-plays on Wednesday, mirroring last season’s 18-game schedule. That means the Hawkeyes get conference regular-season and tournament champion USC and runner-up UCLA on the road last season.

Iowa split with the two teams at Carver-Hawkeye Arena last season, defeating USC 76-69 and losing to UCLA 67-65.

The Hawkeyes do get the bottom four teams in the conference last season — Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin — on the road. Iowa also plays NCAA Tournament qualifiers Indiana and Maryland on the road.

Iowa gets five 20-win teams, including third-place Ohio State, at home.

Nebraska is the lone double play for the Hawkeyes. Iowa split with the Huskers last season.
