Manyawu, Combs Commit To Hawkeyes

Two former Drake players announced their commitments to Iowa on Wednesday.

Forward Cam Manyawu and guard Kael Combs announced on social media that they would be joining the Hawkeyes and new coach Ben McCollum, who coached them at Drake this season.

They are the second and third players from Drake to commit to Iowa out of the transfer portal, joining guard Bennett Stirtz.

Manyawu started all 35 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. Combs played in 31 games, all off the bench, averaging 3.8 points and 2 rebounds.

Stirtz was the Missouri Valley Conference’s player of the year, leading the Bulldogs in scoring (19.2 ppg) and assists (5.7).

Iowa forward Cooper Koch, who had entered the NCAA’s transfer portal after coach Fran McCaffery was fired, announced earlier this week that he would return to the Hawkeyes.
