Iowa’s Lucy Olsen was a first-team selection by the coaches and the media on the All-Big Ten teams, released Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes have had a first-team selection in nine consecutive seasons.
Olsen, who transferred from Villanova last spring, was a unanimous first-team selection by the coaches. She ranked fifth in the Big Ten in scoring (18 ppg) and third in assists (4.8).
It is the fourth all-conference honor of Olsen’s career. She was a unanimous first-team All-Big East selection as a junior, a second-team pick as a sophomore and an all-rookie team honoree as a freshman.
Iowa’s Hannah Stuelke was a second-team selection by the media and an honorable-mention selection by the coaches. She averaged 13 points and led the team with 7.9 rebounds per game.
Senior Sydney Affolter was on the media’s honorable-mention list and was Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient. Affolter averaged 8.5 points and 8.1 rebounds this season.
USC sophomore guard JuJu Watkins was voted the conference’s player of the year by both the coaches and the media. Ohio State guard Jaloni Cambridge was named freshman of the year by the media and shared the honor with Michigan guard Olivia Olson on the coaches’ selection. UCLA junior center Lauren Betts was the Big Ten’s defensive player of the year. USC’s Lindsay Gottlieb was chosen as the coach of the year, while UCLA junior forward Janiah Barker was voted the sixth player of the year.
