Olsen Commits To Hawkeyes

Iowa’s women’s basketball team was going to need some scoring help next season.

The Hawkeyes got that on Wednesday when former Villanova guard Lucy Olsen announced on social media that she would be transferring to Iowa.

Olsen, a 5-foot-9 guard who has one season of eligibility remaining, ranked third in the nation in scoring at 23.3 points per game this season behind Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and USC’s JuJu Watkins. Olsen also averaged 3.8 assists per game.

The Hawkeyes were looking for someone to fill the position of Clark, the consensus national player of the year who finished her career as major college basketball’s all-time leading scorer.

Olsen, a 41.8 percent career shooter, is also a 31.8 percent shooter in 3-pointers. She has started all 105 games she has played in at Villanova.
